The New Cultivars   George Bartlett

Although this book has been written for British fuchsia growers, the opening     chapters are quite relevant for us in Australia.
In the introduction is a table of all the species of Fuchsias from which modern cultivars have emanated.
Many topics are covered at the beginning of the book, but one I found very interesting was on watering, but more importantly the effects of over watering and the treatment of plants in the hot weather.
Another topic was a discussion on mediums used for propagation. One of interest was the use of florist blocks of oasis.
First published in the year 2000  this book profiles 1,500 of the then newly created cultivars with 500 of these shown in photographs.
The cultivars are arranged in alphabetical order, with descriptions on one page and the opposite page showing a selection of photographs. These photographs are of a high quality.
It is a beautiful book to browse through and dream.
